Technical & Policies Committee
The Technical & Policy Committee is responsible for (1) a systematic review of existing solid waste regulation, communication with State agencies and the preparation of proposed amendments of concern to the membership, and (2) the tracking, participation and the preparation of comments as required on proposed Rule changes within the State that may affect the membership at-large. The Committee will notify the Chapter Board of significant proposed Rule changes. The Committee will educate the membership at-large and promote SWANA positions to the State agencies as appropriate.
This Committee will also serve as Legislative Liaison and will be responsible for tracking and influencing legislation and solid waste policy within the State that may affect the membership at-large. The Committee will be responsible for representing SWANA in governmental hearings, meetings and other proceedings as deemed appropriate by the Board. The Committee will notify the Chapter Board of significant proposed legislation. The Committee will educate the membership at-large and promote SWANA positions to the State legislature as appropriate.
